Full Ensemble Rehearsal — AMAZING!     Or Khadash

We had our full ensemble rehearsal for Cantoria last night … What a wonderful night! All 13 of us who will be on stage were here, in a tight squeeze in Autumn Studios … and we made it over our cracks and pops, ending with an enormously harmonious and delicious Or Khadash to complete the evening! Thanks to all: The string quartet members Mary, Andrew, Nancy & Zoltan, Pepe, Zamir, Bill (our human metronome :) , Mike, Deborah, Debby, Liz, and of course… ZOE!

Thanks also to our visitors who served tea and cookies, and just offered yet more Joy to the evening: Debby, Carol, Richard, Jan, and our videographer Erez!

Love and Blessings to all – can’t wait to hear do this again June 10 on the Cultch stage!

Welcome to the Premiere Concert of CANTORIA! An evening of Meditative, Relaxing Vocal & Instrumental Music from Ancient Spirituality for Today’s Peaceful Presence.

Arranged and produced by Vancouver’s Mark Fenster, this soulful musical Journey brings together a beautiful arrangement of local voices, world instruments and universal meditation. The loving intent of ancient Universal blessings are returned to our hearts with the global connection of our 7 Chakras, the deep Spiritual meanings of the words and the sweet calming of the music.

A lyrical combination of lead vocals by Mark Fenster and his 9 year old daughter Zoe, acoustic guitars, Bill Sample on piano & keyboards, Pepe Danza on Shakuhachi & Udu, 4 beautiful harmony vocalists (Cantor Michael Zoosman, Debby Fenson, Deborah Stern Silver, Liz van Warmerdam), and our Special Guests for this Premiere Concert: A String Quartet of musicians from the VSO, all comprise this Project of Peace and Acceptance, which has led to a great many joyful experiences and comments. One listener says: “I felt like I was meditating in pure peace while I was listening to your music.”

This concert will feature an opening performance of beautiful Baha’i prayers by VICO‘s Tenor vocalist Amir Haghaghi & celtic harpist Amy Stephen, a seemless performance of Cantoria in its entirety, and following an Intermission, we will feature an Open Forum discussion of Q&A on Ancient Sprituality, meanings and interpretations of the blessings, chakras, etc … Plus a few very special musical surprises!

Please join us for what is certain to be a touching, enjoyable, peaceful and deeply memorable evening
